Dealing With A Slow And Unresponsive Microsoft Outlook Application

  • Launch Microsoft Outlook on your computer. If a desktop shortcut exists, click on the desktop shortcut link to launch the application. If not use the Start menu popup. To launch the Start menu, click on the Start orb placed in the bottom left corner of the home screen.
  • From the Start menu popup, select the label that reads All Programs. From the All Programs submenu, select the label that reads Microsoft Outlook.
  • Drop into the inbox folder. From the inbox folder, select the emails that have been read already. Move the selected read emails into a new a folder. To move the emails, select the emails, and drag and drop them into the folder where you are storing the reads emails. For the best results, try to keep the number of these in your inbox folder under 100. Anything beyond that would be asking for an application crash.
  • Customize your archive settings. Make Outlook delete all the messages that are moved into the archives folder. This will clear up the space. Move the mouse and highlight the label Inbox Folder. Right-click on this folder. From the drop down, select the label that reads Properties.
  • This will launch the Properties Window. Select the AutoArchive tab. Scroll down the tab. Set the time for which you want the folder to hold the archived messages. Enter the date into the drop down date box.
  • Hit the trash button to clear the trash folder, both on Outlook and on your computer. This can fix the issues to an extent.
  • Restart your Outlook application, after you have finished performing the above-mentioned procedure. Try accessing your inbox, and other folders.

How To Reset Your Windows Live Help Password

In order to log in to your Windows Live account, you need to have your log in id and password that are created during the time when you created your user account. Now, if you lose your password, there is an easy way by which you can reset it.   • Start the process by launching the web browser and browsing to the Windows Live Solution Center website. After that, you need to click on the option that is named as Sign In and then select Forgot your password option located beneath the password field.
  • Next up, you need to type in your Windows Live ID. Now, you will be asked to enter the CAPTCHA security code exactly as it is displayed on the picture. When you are done, click on the Continue button.
  • Once you did that, you need to click on the option to check your identity. You need to type in the answer for the security question. You can also opt for the verification link to be sent to an alternate email address that you have initially provided. When your identity is verified, the password reset page will get automatically loaded on to your computer screen. Now, you can reset your password.
  • Following which, you need to type in the answer for your security question. You will now be asked to provide other details such as your location. Type in the necessary details in to the text fields provided. This will open the account reset page.
  • After that, you need to provide your alternate email address. Please note that your password reset email will be sent to the alternate email address that you provide. You need to copy and paste the link that has been sent to you to the address bar of your web browser, and then, hit the Enter key on your computer keyboard. 
  • Now, you need to type in your Windows Live ID into the space provided in the account reset page. After that, you need to create a new password and then re-enter it in the respective fields. Click on the Continue button.
  • You will now be able to sign in to the Windows Live account with your new password.
